Event Overview

Below is the breakdown of different phases and tests involved in the event.

Mechanical Inspection
This phase focuses on the overall mechanical design of the ATV. Teams will need to ensure that their vehicle meets all safety and design requirements as per rule book.
Points: 50

Electrical Inspection
Teams must present their ATV's electrical system, including battery management, wiring, motor controllers, and safety features. Judges will assess the design, efficiency, and safety compliance of the electrical components. It should meet all the requirements as per rule book.

Acceleration Test
Measure the ATV's acceleration capabilities over a short, straight course.
Criteria: Fastest time to cover the set distance wins.
Points: 100

Maneuverability Test
Test the ATV's handling and agility through a tight course with sharp turns and obstacles.
Criteria: Completion of the course with the least penalties (for hitting obstacles or going off course). Distance covered and time taken to complete the race without mechanical failures.
Points: 100

Hill Climb
Challenge the ATV's torque and traction by climbing a steep incline.
Criteria: Ability to reach the top of the hill in the shortest time without stalling or rolling back.
Points: 100

Rock Crawl
Test the ATV's suspension and low-speed control by navigating through a rocky, uneven terrain.
Criteria: Completion of the course without getting stuck or damaging the vehicle.
Points: 100

Sled Pull
The ATV has to pull a weighted block over a certain distance.
Criteria: Fastest time to cover the distance wins.
Points: 100

Water Fording
Assess the ATV's ability to navigate through shallow water obstacles without stalling or taking on water.
Criteria: Successful crossing in the shortest time.
Points: 100

Endurance Test
Assess the durability, energy efficiency, and reliability of the ATV in a long-distance race over varied terrain.
Criteria: The vehicles must continuously run for ten minutes. The one with the most number of laps in 10 minutes is considered the winner.
Points: 300

General Guidelines

1All participants must be bonafide students of their respective colleges. (Should carry the original certificate on the day of the event).
2A valid college ID card is mandatory for verification.
3Complaints regarding judges or their decisions will not be entertained.
4Participants are expected to maintain proper decorum and sportsmanship throughout the event.
5Slots are limited for all the events. (first come first serve basis).
6Exceeding the specified time limit for any event will result in disqualification.
7The judges' decisions will be final and binding.

Rules And Regulations

1Battery Specifications
2Primary Battery: Max capacity 4Ah; voltage < 12V.
3Secondary Battery: For wireless control and subsystems; voltage < 5V (except microcontrollers/microprocessors, < 12V).
4Replacement: Both primary and secondary batteries can be replaced with identical specifications.
5Chemistry: Lithium-based for traction; any type for secondary batteries.
6Inspection: All batteries must be engraved with unique codes and comply with voltage/Ah limits.
7Motor and Power System
8Motor Rating: Max 20W; terminal voltage < 12V.
9Motor Count: Unlimited, but cumulative power must stay within the limit.
10Voltage & Current Testing: Provisions for checking terminal voltage, no-load voltage, and full-load current required.
11Vehicle Design and Construction
12Dimensions: Must fit within a box (L: 12 in, W: 10 in; no height limit).
13Wiring Harness: Proper routing; no sagging/projections.
14All-Directional Movement: Forward, backward, and turn in all directions.
15Ground Clearance: Min 4 cm.
16Shock Absorbers: Optional but awarded special points.
17Control and Safety
18Wireless Control: Encrypted connections to prevent interference.
19PCB/Motor Controllers: Securely mounted; water-resistant casing; exposed during inspection.
20Amber LED: Visible from 5m, mounted on top of the vehicle.
21Event Regulations
22Battery Replacement: Only in designated areas.
23Stopping During Race: Stopped vehicles have second priority; TEJs' decision final.
24All-Terrain Capability: Must navigate various terrains, including water.
25Documentation
26Wiring Diagrams: Traction, communication, and other circuits must be presented on separate A4 sheets.
27Participants must bring a fully assembled and working RC car to the competition, as assembling the parts during the event is not allowed. All teams must strictly follow the provided guidelines and rules; failure to do so may result in disqualification.
